'The Notebook' begins with the story of Noah Calhoun, a rural Southerner recently returned from WWII. He is restoring a plantation home, and he's haunted by images of the girl he met 14 years earlier, a girl he loved like no other. Noah is content to live with memories - until she returns to see him.
